The Bengals face some big questions this off season, the biggest one is centered around soon to be free agent wide receiver T.J. Houshmadzadeh. The club has already stated that there will be no use of the franchise tag in T.J.’s case so its sign him to a long term deal or watch him walk out of Cincinnati forever. Do the Bengals need to resign him? Of course! He was the most productive member of a bad offense in ’08 with nearly 1,000 yards receiving with 31 first downs for a team that only managed 82 all season. More on that in another post.

Then comes the big day in late April, the draft. The Bengals own the number 6 overall pick in the 2009 NFL draft and there will be a plethora of quality players that the Bengals will consider at that spot. Numerous needs on offense and defense make predicting that pick difficult but be sure that Bengals Central will get you up to speed on all the players the Bengals will be considering.

After the draft comes training camp, preseason, and then, finally, real football again. Lets hope 2009 will yeild a playoff berth for this beleaguered team. Keep it tuned here for most posts to come!
